Ein Werk aus der Serie „Entwicklung und Transformation“    

Der Betrachtende wird durch ein Loch in einer Mauer in eine surreale, geheimnisvoll Szenerie hineingezogen. Das zentrale Element des Kunstwerks ist ein altes, offen stehendes Fenster in einem leeren, verwitterten Raum. Am Fenster angelehnt liegt ein Türblatt, das scheinbar als schräge Ebene als Ein- und Ausstiegshilfe dient. Von außen fällt Tageslicht auf den Boden des Raumes. Dieser ist umgeben von schmutzigen, brüchigen Mauern – typisch für verlassene Gebäude.

Die Struktur der Oberfläche ist von feinen Rissen und Texturen durchzogen, die dem Bild eine greifbare Haptik verleihen und die Vergänglichkeit und den Charme verlassener Orte symbolisieren. El espectador es atraído a través de un agujero en una pared a una escena surrealista y misteriosa. El elemento central de la obra es una vieja ventana abierta en una habitación vacía y desgastada. Apoyada en la ventana hay una hoja de puerta que parece servir de plano inclinado para facilitar la entrada y la salida. La luz del día cae sobre el suelo de la habitación desde el exterior. Éste está rodeado de paredes sucias y desmoronadas, típicas de los edificios abandonados.

La estructura de la superficie está surcada por finas grietas y texturas que dan al cuadro una sensación tangible y simbolizan la fugacidad y el encanto de los lugares abandonados. El título «Ladrillo en la pared» y la inclusión de la obra en la serie «Lugares perdidos» subrayan el tema central de la decadencia y el tiempo que deja su huella.

El juego de luces y sombras, combinado con la cruda materialidad del cuadro, nos invita a suponer la historia y la vida que hay detrás del muro representado. Es un homenaje a la magia y la melancolía de los lugares abandonados que, a pesar de su soledad, conservan una magia imperecedera.

The viewer is drawn into a surreal, mysterious scene through a hole in a brick wall. The central element of the artwork is an old, open window in an empty, weathered room. Leaning against the window is a door that appears to serve as an inclined plane to aid entry and exit. From outside, daylight falls on the floor of the room. This is surrounded by dirty, crumbling walls – typical of abandoned buildings.

The structure of the surface is criss-crossed with fine cracks and textures that give the image a tangible feel and symbolise the transience and charm of abandoned places. The title ‘Brick in the Wall’ and the embedding of the work in the series ‘Lost Places’ illustrate the central theme of decay and time leaving its mark.

The interplay of light and shadow, combined with the raw materiality of the image, invites us to imagine the history and life behind the depicted wall. It is a tribute to the magic and melancholy of abandoned places, which, despite their loneliness, retain an everlasting charm.
